Cassandra Carter | Stylist
Cassandra received her first training at MHCC Cosmetology School, where she enrolled after her mother requested that she stop giving her high school friends punk rock haircuts in the bathroom. She went on to apprentice under Kevin Loos, a salon artistic director with 30+ years experience behind the chair and as a platform artist and educator for Toni&Guy. Cassandra has also attended advanced courses in New York and Los Angeles, and has styled for photo shoots and for Portland’s FashioNXT runway show.
Cassandra’s clients appreciate that she listens to what they want, and helps them achieve a unique look that fits their personality and lifestyle. She loves helping clients feel good about the way they look, and draws inspiration from musicians like Pharrell, Robert Smith, Pauline Black, and St. Vincent., and from movies that feature eccentric or elaborate costuming, like period pieces and even sci-fi/fantasy films. A Portland native, Cassandra is partial to vegan cooking. When not cutting and coloring hair, she can be found playing bass for the band Slippery Eyes.
