Hair Shedding: Is this Normal?
The question is always being asked by both women and men who are concerned about what they perceive as additional hair shedding. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do some advanced education on the subject.
Yes, I know it is scary when you are seeing the hair fall and then more hair fall. And, then wondering if it will end! Well, here is the break down on what is occurring. At any given time 85% to 90% of the hairs on the average person’s head are growing. This is called the anagen phase. The other hairs are resting and this is called the telogen phase. Generally, the anagen phase will last two to four years, then will enter into the telogen phase and will rest for about two to four months. This is when the hair falls out and is replaced by new-growth. The average person loses anywhere from 100-150 hairs per day!
Although losing a great number of hairs within a short time can be frightening, the condition is usually temporary. Because hair on the scalp grows slowly, your hair may feel or look thinner than usual for a time, but fullness will return as the new hairs grow in.
One of my absolute favorite products is Phytodensium Serum. It is a protection for lifeless hair with blackcurrant seed oil rich in omega-3 and omega-6. As we age, hair often becomes weak and fragile requiring specific care. Phytodensium serum helps prevent damage by injecting strength and vitality into the hair. Black currant seed oil, rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, regenerates hair while birch and horsetail leaf extracts restores minerals to the hair shaft. A botanical protein complex increases the hair’s level of resistance and elasticity by forming a protective layer. A tyrosine derivative helps boost the level of melanin and inhibits the appearance of grey hair. Stimulated and toned, the hair regains its density and vitality.
Phytodensium serum, and a large range of other natural hair care products are available at WINDOWWALL salon.
